Emotional Skills

Emotional Intelligence
The ability to recognise, understand, and manage one's own emotions and the emotions of others. Emotional intelligence encompasses skills such as self-awareness, empathy, emotional regulation, and effective communication.

Empathy
The capacity to understand and share the feelings and perspectives of others. Developing empathy helps children build positive relationships, demonstrate kindness, and compassion, and navigate social interactions with understanding and respect.

Emotional Regulation
The skill to manage and express emotions in a healthy and constructive manner. Children should learn to recognise and understand their emotions, cope with stress, and regulate their emotional responses effectively.

Gratitude and Positive Thinking
The ability to appreciate and express gratitude for the positive aspects of life. Encouraging children to develop a positive mindset and focus on gratitude fosters resilience, optimism, and overall well-being.

Mindfulness
The practice of being present in the moment, non-judgmentally, and with full awareness. Children can learn mindfulness techniques to manage stress, enhance focus, and cultivate a sense of calm and well-being.

Resilience
The capacity to bounce back from adversity, cope with challenges, and adapt to change. Developing resilience helps children navigate setbacks, build problem-solving skills, and maintain a positive mindset in the face of difficulties.

Self-Awareness
The ability to recognise and understand one's own emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. Developing self-awareness helps children identify and express their feelings appropriately, leading to better emotional regulation.

Self-Esteem and
Self-Confidence
The belief in one's own worth and abilities. Children should develop a positive self-image, recognise their strengths, and cultivate self-confidence to face challenges and pursue their goals.
